WAVINCITY: Home Encounters is a project born from WAVINCITY, since 2026. WAVINCITY has always believed that sound carries the memory of a place and time overlapping. Yet field recording alone can only capture the sound of a place, not the feeling of home, because home was never something sound alone could carry, it needs a person’s story to be understood by someone far away.
WAVINCITY: Home Encounters 是從 WAVINCITY 延伸而生的計劃，始於2026年。WAVINCITY 一直相信，聲音承載著地方與時間交疊的記憶。然而環境錄音只能記下一個地方的聲音，卻記不下「家」的感覺，因為「家」從來不是單靠聲音就能傳達，它需要一個人的故事，才能被另一個身處遠方的人理解。
Home Encounters visits places where diaspora communities still hear traces of home, walking alongside them for a while, listening closely and recording their voice together with this place’s present echo. A field recording from somewhere unfamiliar can mean little to a stranger on its own, just background noise from elsewhere. But carried inside someone’s own story and voice, it stops being strange, and becomes something that can be understood, and felt, as memory.
Home Encounters 走訪離散社群仍聽見家鄉的地方，陪着他們走一段路，細聽並記錄他們的聲音，與此地當下的迴響。有時候，一段來自異地的環境錄音，對聽者而言只是陌生的背景聲；但當中承載著一個人的故事與聲音，它便不再陌生，而是變成一種可以被理解、被感受的記憶。
It is a translocal soundscape narrative project: each recording is not just ambient sound, but a trace left behind by someone willing to walk, speak, and be heard.
這是一個跨地域聲景敘事計劃：每一段錄音都不只是環境聲音，而是一個人願意同行、傾訴、聆聽後所留下的痕跡。
